“The Gospel must be at the center of all that we do. At the cross, justice and mercy were reconciled: God’s justice was satisfied, as Jesus paid the penalty for our sins; and God’s mercy was poured out, as we were imputed the perfect record of Christ. At the cross, Jesus became nothing, that we might become something—it was in his moment of greatest weakness that God’s greatest power was demonstrated. We must learn to embrace that paradox of the Gospel, carrying our cross daily while living the resurrection life. It is the Gospel that enables us to humbly say, “have mercy on me, a sinner”, while boldly proclaiming, ‘let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!'”
Only transformed hearts and minds will truly bring restoration of life, value and dignity to God’s people!
